Newgrange Passage Tomb
Newgrange, in the Boyne Valley, Co. Meath, is Ireland’s best-known prehistoric monument, and is arguably Europe’s finest example of a megalithic passage grave. Built around 3200 BC, the structure is more than 1000 years older than the Giza Pyramids in Cairo, and Stonehenge.
Newgrange tomb consists of a vast stone and turf mound about 85 metres in diameter and 13.5 metres high. The Stone Age mound contains a passage, which lead to a burial chamber. Before entering the 5000 year old passage tomb, your guide will explain in some detail the ancient landscape around you. Monasterboice 6th Century Celtic High Crosses finest in Europe
Monasterboice is located in County Louth Ireland, You will be guided through this spectacular site. This Monastic settlement is surrounded by picturesque Irish countryside, and Monasterboice is famous for its Celtic crosses which were carved in AD922. Decorated with scenes from the Old and New Testament, sculpted onto panels, including pictures of Adam and Eve, the Crucifixion, and the Last Judgement.
