Tara is an extensive site, which dates back over 4000 years. Prior to the arrival of Christianity with St Patrick in 432 AD, Tara was a place where priest – kings held elaborate druid ceremonies. During the Bronze Age royalty would gather at the Hill of Tara to honor the passing of someone whom they respected.
